St. Joseph Shelter of Hope (SJSHope) is a registered Faith Based Non-governmental Organization (NGO) that was established in 1999 and is under the leadership of the General Council of Sisters of St. Joseph, Archdiocese of Mombasa.
The General Council (Board of Trustees) is assisted by an Advisory Board and Management to implement the organizations strategic objectives.
The SJSHope strive to protect, nurture and enhance the value and sacredness of life. This is achieved through various Projects carried out in the organization.
The Advisory Board has a main role of advising the Board of Trustees on matters to do with the progress of SJSHope, including assisting in developing strategic objectives of the organization, representing community interests, ensuring that Church’s teaching on health and human right is respected, organizing and assisting in resource mobilization, and ensuring the Ministry of Health (MOH) interests are represented in offering health care.
The Health Management Team (HMT) is a committee consisting of department heads / leads ensures implementation of projects issues of concern. The roles of the Health Management Team include ensuring planning and execution of plans is implemented, advising the Administrator on the improvement of project administration, programs implementation and resource mobilization, reviewing and advising on budgets, and on Personnel matters.
